Baldi's Basics is a survival horror game disguised as a weirdly offbeat school simulator. The goal? Snatch up seven notebooks scattered around the school before Baldi catches you. Sounds easy—until you realize this school is a nightmare factory. Every notebook comes with a math quiz, but don’t expect fair questions. Some are straight-up impossible, and wrong answers send Baldi into overdrive. The more mistakes you make, the faster he moves, ruler smacking like a ticking time bomb.

This school is crawling with characters that exist solely to ruin your escape plan. The Principal is lurking, ready to throw you in detention for the tiniest rule break. Run in the halls? Detention. Use an item at the wrong time? Detention. And while you’re stuck, Baldi’s getting closer. Playtime’s another headache—she forces you into a jump rope game that wastes precious time while doom inches closer. The Bully is just there to steal your items because why not? Then there’s Gotta Sweep, a broom that doesn't care about your survival and will shove you right into danger.

Smart players hoard items to survive. B-Soda blasts Baldi away for a few seconds, scissors stop Playtime’s nonsense, and energy bars give you a speed boost when you need it most. But strategy matters—waste an item at the wrong time, and you're done for. That final stretch, racing to the exit while Baldi moves at lightning speed, is pure panic. Think you can outsmart him and escape, or will that ruler be the last thing you hear?
